Art in Small Doses: The Story Behind My Masala Stickers
There’s something magical about everyday objects – especially in the Indian kitchen, where each spice carries stories, memories, and a little bit of home. With that feeling in mind, I set out to reimagine the humble masala label, turning the ordinary into art you can actually hold.
From Idea to Artwork
The journey started in my sketchbook, where I experimented with everything from flaming crow skulls to spirited Shirobaby character doodles. But the deeper I dove, the more I was drawn to the ornate, dramatic world of baroque art. It just felt right to dress our classic spices—red chilli, coriander, cumin, and turmeric—in intricate frames and rich, bold colors.
Spices That Tell a Story
Each sticker is more than just a label. They’re mini-masterpieces, handmade digitally to feel a bit like quirky clay – complete with thumbprints, textures, and all the lovely imperfections that make each one special. The starring detail? A one-line drawing of a farmer with two cows, reminding us of the roots and real people behind every sprinkle of spice we use.
Why Stickers?
For me, stickers are personal. They’re a quick burst of personality, nostalgia, or inspiration – little pieces of luxury you see every time you reach for your masala dabba. And if they bring just a bit more joy, beauty, and story to your everyday rituals, then my job is done.
A Limited Edition Launch
